I am a qualified Birthlight teacher and my passion is in antenatal and postnatal yoga. My main experiences derive from my own three children.

Yoga in pregnancy can be a special time for mother and baby to engage in the initial bonding stage and to become focussed. Yoga is very empowering at a time when women are more intuitive and can reconnect with their instinct, listening to their 'inner voice'.

Yoga in pregnancy helps to prevent aches, pains, fear, and anxiety. Yoga improves circulation and suppleness. It helps you to face labour positively, living in the present 'here and now', facing each event as it occurs.

The classes cover:
  • Developing rhythmical breathing for 'light birthing', breathing your baby out, accessing power to birth actively. 
  • Staying centred and empowered if fears step in. 
  • Positioning your baby well in the womb through awareness of your own posture. 
  • Strengthening and relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. 
  • Movements to strengthen and open your body, lengthening whilst realigning. 
  • Deep relaxation to celebrate pregnancy and remove fear.
I enjoy working in small groups, giving individual attention so that you can feel enriched by the experience. Working with likeminded people and building up a support network at this stage in your life can be very worthwhile.
